Friendship Group - Visits made in 2011

 

 

 

 

During 2011 the following trips were made by the group:-

April - Mystery Trip - A day trip took us to Melton Mowbray and a boat trip on Rutland Water.

May - Windsor, Berkshire - (photo) A warm sunny day was enjoyed at this historic, royal residence, including the splendour of St George's Chapel and the restored rooms damaged in the disastrous fire of 1992.

June - Trentham Gardens, Stoke-on-Trent - (photo) A ride across country to Staffordshire to enjoy these expansive gardens.

July - Mystery trip - (photo) Another mystery trip took us to Norfolk where we visited Aylsham for a ride on the Bure Valley Railway to Wroxham where we enjoyed a boat trip on one of the renowned Broads.

August - Great Yarmouth, Norfolk - A day at the seaside at this traditional seaside resort on the Norfolk coast

September - Weston-super-Mare, Somerset - (photos) A 5-day break on a windswept Somerset coast, during which we enjoyed a stay at the Arosfa Hotel. During the week we fought the strong winds to sample the delights of this resort. There were several day trips which took us to Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Bristol and Burnham-on-Sea. The trip to Bristol included an open top bus tour of the city and a visit to 'SS Great Britain', he first ocean going steamship.

October - York - (photo) A trip to this historic city, including the majestic minster, assortment of Museums, the city walls and the city centre shops.

November - Westfield Shopping Centre - Shepherd's Bush, London - Shopaholics took the opportunity to lose some weight by relieving their pockets and purses!
