Friendship Group - Visits made in 2012
During 2012 the following trips were made by the group:-
27 March - Mystery Trip - The first of 2 mystery trips of the year was a local affair which took us to the Aviation Museum at East Kirkby, where we saw a second world war Lancaster bomber, which was paraded for the benefit of visitors. This aircraft is not yet certified to fly after it's restoration, but it is hoped that one day soon it will take to the skies again. Afterwards we spent some time wandering around Woodhall Spa.
17 April - Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe, Melton Mowbray - (photo) A short evening coach trip to Dickinson and Morris's pork pie shop in Melton Mowbray, where we were given a demonstration on pork pie making. Afterwards, everyone had the opportunity to try out their new found skills and made their own pie. These were placed in the oven for baking overnight and the pies were distributed to their creators during the next few days.
24 April - Beverley, Yorkshire - (photo) A visit over the Humber Bridge to visit this delightful market town in East Yorkshire, renowned for it's minster
22 May - The Cotswolds - (photo) A beautiful sunny day was a bonus as we sojourned into Gloucestershire to visit the picturesque 'chocolate box' villages of Moreton- in-Marsh and Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds. On the way we stopped at Hatton Country Park, where we will return during 2013.

16-21 September - Weymouth, Dorset -(photos) A 6-day break on the Jurassic coast of Dorset, where we enjoyed a stay at the Crown Hotel in Weymouth. On the outward journey we stopped at Winchester, where we had the opportunity to visit the historic cathedral. During the week we enjoyed a day trip to Swanage, including a ride on a heritage railway, returning via Poole. Another day saw us have a leisurely journey west along the Jurassic coast to Sidmouth and finally, a morning trip to Portland, noted for it's stone, which adorns many notable buildings in the country, such as St. Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey in London.
20 November - Meadowhell Shopping Centre, Sheffield - Shopaholics took the opportunity to lose some weight by relieving their pockets and purses and topping up their Nectar points.
